Description

  • Vintage: 2019
  • Taste guide: Medium bodied and lightly oaked. Bright nose of blackberry and raspberry with a hint of cinnamon spice. Palate is silky smooth with ripe berry fruit, juicy freshness and that touch of spice you sense on the nose again.
  • Food Pairing: Turns the heat up when paired with spicy dishes or peps up grilled/roasted beef or lamb dishes. Because of the medium body this is also good for a BBQ or simply on its own.
  • Vegan/Vegetarian friendly
  • 75cl - 13.5% abv - Screwcap

Travel to western Argentina, close to the border with Chile and the snow topped Andes, and you'll come across the beautiful San Juan vineyards. While Mendoza steals the limelight with its Malbecs, San Juan remains its forgotten cousin. Yet its wines can be every bit as good. As Guardian columnist Gavin McOwan, wrote, "little-known San Juan province has wines of equal quality." There's some very historic landscapes here too, including Valle de Luna – a national park, with a lunar like landscape and a palaeontologist’s dream of dinosaur fossils. This is a modern, bright fruit Malbec, the name of which was inspired by this very special valley. Brimful of ripe berry notes, it's an easy going red on it’s own or with the food pairing suggestions above.

Great reviews on Laithwaites (which is also the Times Wine club in disguise) where it retailed for an inflated £8-£10 depending on how many bottles you had to buy. Try it for just £6.69 per bottle here @BinEnds!
