Description

  • Vintage: 2018
  • Origin: Languedoc-Roussillon, France
  • Taste Guide: The nose shows Sauvignon’s pungent character with blackcurrant leaf and lemon peel; the palate is dry, mineral, fresh and full-flavoured with apple and typical Sauvignon grassiness. There is some richness from a 12 hour maceration and some lees ageing but the wine is otherwise unoaked.
  • 75cl - 13% - Natural Cork Opening
  • Food pairing: Clamari, braised chicken/pork or would go well with a lightly spiced Thai dish.

Run with fantastic energy by the young Christelle Alias, this 38 hectare estate lies at the foot of the Montagne d’Alaric in the northerly, cooler part of the Corbières. In 1997 the vineyards were completely restructured by Christelle’s father, Bernard and are now cultivated organically.
Christelle joined her father in 2012 after a tour of the viticultural world and has clearly had fun creating her wines: there is a juicy vibrancy – she clearly aims for freshness and elegance over extraction and power.

This wine is exclusive to Matthew Clark, (UK wine importer) and you won't find it at multiple retailers. The recommended retail is £10.50+ according to their site. Just 6 bottles sourced (Dec ‘23)
