The Verdejo grape (not be confused with the similar sounding Verdelho grape from Portugal) takes its name from the Spanish word for green - 'verde' - inspired by its brightly verdant berries. The vineyards are located in the Vino de la Tierra de Castilla growing area in the centre of Spain. It is a vast expanse of very flat terrain. The temperatures are extreme due to its continental climate ranging from lows of -15° in the Winter to stifling highs of 45° in the Summer.

Dryness is another one of this regions most distinct characteristics, It has a micro-climate that prevents the entry of moisture carrying winds resulting in very low rainfall. The terroir is formed of sedimentary limestone deposits with mainly clay and sandy soil with a thickness and compactness of grain.

Great value Verdejo hear that is drinking well, just £5.99 per bottle.
