The valley where the estate is located is home to terraces shaped during the formation of the Montagne Noire and Mount Alaric, the keystones of the Corbières. At its centre, 140 metres below ground, the subterranean fault line which crosses the land at Vaugelas provides natural irrigation for the vines. Cradled by the Orbieu river which crosses the domain, these vines are on a terrior where schists and blue marls mingle at the foot of the Alaric Mountain. It is here, between the tramontane, the sun and the rolled pebbles, that the old vines extract the essence of the renowned Chateau Vaugelas vineyard.

Vinified naturally, (hence 'Nature' on the label) with grapes selected and harvested manually.

This Cuvee reveals aromas of leather, oak and vanilla. Nice round and slightly tannic palate with a little acidity and sweetness. Intense notes of raspberry, redcurrant, roasted dark cherry and pepper with a delightful finish.

Bottled freely (without filtration) this wine can present a deposit so please be aware of sediment at the bottom of the bottle.

Pair with game, strong cheeses, lamb shank or why not try with steak frites!?

Another French red here that you will struggle to find anywhere else, €20+ price tag in upmarket French restaurants; £10.95 here.
