This is the nicest Red we have tried for a few weeks now, (we try a lot) in fact, as soon as we did, I emailed the supplier to ask for more and it had sold out. Can be cellared for a year or so but can also be drank immediately as it is definitely ready!

Producer detail:

"Pronounced SENZA. The Italian definition of “without”, or “to do without”. No chemicals, no pesticides. Only what Mother Nature has given us. A range of incredibly delicious wines produced using exclusively organic grapes".

"We promote biodiversity and allow plants other than vines to grow in and around the vineyard. Biodiversity helps regulate the vineyard soil by attracting beneficial insects, spiders and predatory mites, as well as providing shelter and food (pollen, nectar and other bugs), and replaces the need for chemical pesticides or insecticides. What cannot be fully controlled through biodiversity can still be managed organically, through the use of naturally-occurring plant or mineral extracts, which leave no residues in the soil".

"We also do not use any weed/killers, preferring to let the weeds grow. The weeds and grass are then mowed periodically so that the cut weeds rot back into the soil, which provides us with great organic fertiliser".

An approachable yet luscious easy drinker, Zensa Nero di Troia is a raucous berry blast with hints of coffee and chocolate. Rich, warm and smokey, blueberries and forest fruits dance in your mouth before an extraordinary backdrop of dried fruits, coffee and chocolate shine through accompanied by sweet, spicy oak. It has a medium to long finish. If you are a fan of Primitivo or Negromaro and you haven't tried Nero di Troia before, then get involved, you are going to love it!
