Produced by New Zealand's most awarded winery, from fruit sourced in their top vineyards in Hawkes Bay, Gisborne and Marlborough, this is a stunning Gewurztraminer from Villa Maria - recently voted New Zealand's Most Admired Wine Brand.

The fruit was harvested clean with excellent balance. This wine consists of a variety of parcels blended from different vineyards across three regions each contributing unique aroma and flavour characteristics. Fruit from each vineyard was harvested, crushed and soaked for a time on skins to extract flavour and aromatics prior to the pressed juice being racked bright for cool fermentation in stainless steel vats. Low acidity levels give the wine a rich and soft, almost off dry finish.

The winery advises that this vintage will drink well for two years or more - so is at its optimum now.

We have searched the internet to find a UK stockist but after Waitrose sold out, we cannot find one (Feb ‘22). Our thoughts are that Villa Maria no longer export this Gewurztraminer to the UK so this means the stock we have is quite rare. Limited stock, £10.99 per bottle.
