Description

  • Vintage: 2018
  • Origin: Languedoc - Picpoul de Pinet, France
  • Taste guide: In the glass it has a pale colour, flecked with touches of gold. The nose is fresh and fruity with notes of peaches and pears. Given a little time to breathe, it expresses a discreet minerality. Lively and fresh on the palate with a richness, supported by citrus flavours. Time on less gives this a textural, creamy, buttery feeling. The finish is long.
  • 75cl - 13% - Traditional Cork Opening
  • Food pairings: It will go perfectly with oysters, monkfish fillet or cuttlefish, or with white meats and cheeses.

The zinger of the Mediterranean, the Picpoul grape has made its name in the refreshing white wine scene. Made exclusively in the Pinet region, the grapes benefit from luscious sunshine and cooling sea breezes.

Les Vignerons de Florensac is a wine cooperative consisting of 89 growers, rich in ancestral knowledge working together to produce the best of each grape varietal in respect of the local environment and terrior. The Florensac terroir is one of the oldest planted vineyards near the Mediterranean coast and unusually for the South of France, this is a specialist white wine producer benefiting from the cooling breezes that moderate the heat.
The terrior is home to one of the oldest planted vineyards in the region and benefits from the cooling breezes of the Mediterranean coast.

Winemaker: Roques Stephane

It's really true that working beside the sea, some of the salty tang of the water is taken by the grapes. It sounds strange, but with a chilled glass of Picpoul and a plate of oysters is magical.

"I loved creating this Picpoul. With its vibrancy and refreshing acidity it was a pleasure to encapsulate the essence of this amazing grape and region into a bottle."
