Based in the Marlborough Region, Pa Road Rose is made by the te Pa winery which has a history stemming back almost 800 years. Set up by the MacDonald family whose Maori lineage goes back to 1350, the te Pa estate spreads over 400Ha of vineyards in Marlborough’s Wairau and Awatere regions.

The Pinot Noir fruit was crushed and then soaked in the press for 2 hours to extract some colour and flavour from the skins. The juice was fermented in stainless steel tanks at cool temperatures to preserve the fresh aromatics and retain pure fruit expression. A small portion of this wine was barrel fermented, which adds some oak spice, complexity, and creamy richness.

With its beautiful pale salmon colour, hints of copper hues, this Rose is sophisticated, crisp and is an easy drinking wine. Initial aromatics of candied peach, strawberries and florals, are supported by some subtle base notes of spice and minerals. On the palate, this wine displays bright primary fruit, refreshing acidity, light sweetness of fresh strawberries, cotton candy, and cranberry is contrasted by a lovely vein of anise and spice.

Serve as an aperitif or with Asian fare.
