Each vintage, the winemaking team at Luis Felipe Edwards make a rigorous selection of the ripest, most concentrated grapes from the very best sites on the Estate's vineyards to make their Gran Reserva wines. To ensure maximum expression of Sauvignon Blanc the grapes for this wine were vinified separately under the personal supervision of head Winemaker Nicolas Bizzarri.

Chile's Leyda Valley is renowned for the premium quality of its Sauvignon Blanc wines. Being close to the Pacific Ocean the cool breezes allow the fruit to ripen gradually with greater intensity.

The grapes were hand harvested in the cool of the night and vinified in stainless steel to preserve all the inherent freshness and fruitiness. The wine was then kept on its lees for 3 months to increase its complexity and enhance varietal character.

Pale straw in colour with interesting notes and deep green reflections. The notes in the nose are those of tomato leaves, fresh grapefruit, orange blossom, lemon leaf and lychee. On the palate it shows a medium-body, rich with lush flavours of lime, grapefruit, greengage and gooseberry with a crisp and pleasant acidity and great minerality. The finish is persistent and harmonious.

Sauvignon Blanc is our favourite white wine, and this genuinely is one of the very best we have tasted. It is far superior to the mass of own-label/unknown label New Zealand Sauvignons proliferating the market, and a match for many of established labels. It is absolutely gorgeous.

Sells for up to £10 elsewhere, and sometimes more. Grab some before we drink it all - at Binendwines it is just £7.99
