1791 was the year that Philippus Wolvaart arrived in The Cape, laying the foundation for what is now South Africa's most prized name in wine.
Classic Shiraz grapes were sourced from vineyards in the warm Paarl and Wellington areas in the Western Cape.
Vineyards in the Paarl, Durbanville, Philadelphia and Stellenbosch regions provide fruit for this 100% Shiraz. The wine is matured in new-, second- and third-fill oak for a period of 12 to 18 months.
