Nederburg was founded over 2 centuries ago and is renowned for producing quality, value for money wines.
The grapes for this wine were sourced from select vineyards across the Western Cape. The viticulturist works hand-in-hand with the grape growers in managing each vineyard block to ensure the best quality fruit for this wine. The different microclimates and soil types associated with each vineyard add to the complexity of the wine.
The grapes were harvested by hand and machine, transferred to the winery where they were crushed and gently pressed to extract excellent quality juice. After clarification, the juice was fermented in temperature-controlled stainless-steel tanks at 15oC for three weeks. The vinification processes under the control of master winemaker Elmarie Botes were strictly controlled to preserve the characteristic fruit flavours.
