Matua wine is enjoyed in New Zealand and around the world - but it wouldn't be here if it wasn't for Bill and Ross Spence. Armed with lots of Kiwi ingenuity and determination, these brothers set out to revolutionise the New Zealand wine industry. Ultimately, when they produced New Zealand's first Sauvignon Blanc, they changed the way the world drinks Sauvignon Blanc.

Marlborough is the most famous wine region in NZ thanks to the incredibly unique style of Sauvignon Blanc it produces. But there's a lot more to Marlborough than just crisp, fresh and zesty Sauvy!

They pick the Sauvignon Blanc grapes from over 100 vineyards across Marlborough, encompassing the Wairau and Awatere Valley sub-regions. The Sauvignon Blanc parcels are processed at the winery in batches before cool fermentation in stainless steel tanks with their 'house style' yeasts. Then the wine was left to sit on light lees to build texture and a luscious mouth feel.

Matua Sauvignon Blanc is produced and bottled in New Zealand at the winery.
