The Barbera d'Alba Suculé from Cascina Lo Zoccolaio comes from vineyards located in Barolo and Monforte d'Alba, facing south-southeast, at 300 metres above sea level on marly-limestone soils. After the October harvest, done strictly by hand as a tradition, only the best grapes from the 2 vineyards are selected. The grapes are then destemmed, softly pressed and fermented in stainless steel vats at a controlled temperature of 30° C. After malolactic fermentation, the wine ages in French barriques for 18 months and in the bottle for 6 more months, before being sold.
Nice heavy, embossed bottle of which we only sourced 10 ourselves (Dec 2024) so be quick.
