Winemaker David Nieuwoudt created the Ghost Corner brand in 2007 and every year David selects a small quantity of grapes from vineyards in the Elim ward near Cape Agulhas on the southernmost tip of Africa. Ghost Corner takes it's name from this treacherous coastline where more than 130 ships have been shipwrecked through the ages. Luckily, this extreme and mysterious landscape is far better suited to winemaking than sailing. Excellent growing conditions, lime-rich soils and cooling south-easterly breezes characterise the vineyards, which give rise to some exceptional wines. The wines are powerfully concentrated, with prominent fruit and a surprising length that lingers on the palate, in David's own words, "evoking a sense of mysteries past."

A vibrant Sauvignon Blanc with lemon grass, white blossom, gooseberry and asparagus coming through. A wine showing great minerality and balance on palate with loads of concentration in flavour that lingers with a creamy finish. Lees contact during the winemaking process creates length and richness on the aftertaste, which will progress even more over the next 2 or 3 years.
