Description

  • Vintage: 2022
  • Origin: Marlborough, New Zealand
  • Taste guide: Very pale gold in colour with a nose of fresh grapefruit, kiwi fruit and nettles. Delightful citrus, grapefruit, gooseberry and tropical flavours fill the palate with a perfectly balanced vs zippy acidity. An unoaked wine with this acidity gives the wine its crisp, mouth watering finish too. Tasted, May ‘24
  • 750ml - 12.5% - Screwcap - Carbon Neutral Certified
  • Superb Score & Reviews on Vivino
  • Food pairings: Pairs wonderfully with a variety of simple dishes, such as steamed or grilled fish, especially those nhanced with citrus and herbal sauces like parsley, tarragon and basil. We enjoyed with a simple fish and chips with tartar sauce!

The Dusky Sounds. It’s one of Fiordland’s largest fiords, a breeding playground for Fiordland Penguins, where Maori hunted Moa before Europeans arrived on the scene, where they reckon NZ’s first beer was brewed by Captain Cook and crew. It’s a great spot for a boat cruise or (if you’re fit enough) paddling a kayak around for a few days.

There’s now even a wine label named after it.

Waipara Hills who produce this lovely white wine, were founded back in 2001 and have a great reputation for excellent wines with a rich bouquet and complex flavours that have won them more than 500 awards of various prestigious competitions since.

Producer RRP is circa £11/12 or £30 in a restaurant, grab a superb Marlborough Sauvignon here for just under £9
