Owned by Pichon-Longueville in Bordeaux, Mas Belles Eaux is a distinguished winery in the Languedoc region. The estate’s vineyards span 90 hectares across rolling hills, benefiting from a diverse and complex terroir characterized by Villafranchian gravel over red clay and alluvial soils. The name “Belles Eaux” (Beautiful Waters) is inspired by the numerous springs that flow through the property, feeding into the Peyne River. These natural springs impart a unique freshness to the wines of Mas Belles Eaux, enhancing their distinct character and connection to the land.

After conducting an in-depth study and meticulous examination of the soil, the Château focused on traditional Languedoc grape varieties, including Syrah, Grenache, Mourvèdre, and Carignan. The estate is also home to the “Mas” and its vaulted cellar, built in the 17th century, which are the oldest structures on the property. These historical buildings are complemented by modern facilities, including a state-of-the-art winery and a maturing cellar for aging wines in casks. This blend of tradition and innovation, coupled with improved yield management and a bespoke winemaking process involving long, gentle maceration, has allowed Château Belles Eaux wines to reach new heights of excellence.

At Château Belles Eaux, the springs play a crucial role in maintaining the natural environmental balance, which is respected throughout the winemaking process. From vine to bottle, the estate is committed to preserving this harmony, ensuring that every bottle of Château Belles Eaux wine embodies the unique freshness and character of its terroir.
