Château Tour Pibran, PAUILLAC 2018
Description
- Vintage: 2018
- Origin: Bordeaux, France
- Taste guide: Intense, deep purple colour. Delicate hints of red fruit, blackcurrant, cassis, tobacco and cedar wood. This rich, full-bodied wine has a firm, smooth texture with blackberry, plum and dark fruit intertwined with oak, leather and vanilla palate nuances. Finish is a delicious lingering one. Noticeable but smooth tannins give the wine excellent balance and a touch of minerality brings a real vibrancy to the wine. Enjoyable now, but also ideal for laying down. Decant before enjoying and serve at just below room temp.
- Varietal Blend: Merlot & Cabernet Sauvignon
- 75cl - 14.5% - Natural Cork Opening
- Food pairing: Game or roasted (white) meat dishes.
- One of the best rated vintages on Vivino.com and sits in the top 1% of all wines in the world according to the same site!
The highly respected Chateau of Tour Pibran borders some of the most prestigious estates in the Pauillac region including Mouton-Rothschild and Pontet Canet. Producing much better wines than their cru bourgeois status suggests, Chateau Tour Pibran create some of the best quality wines in the region, without the price tag to match.
This is the second wine of Château Pibran but it is made with exactly the same care and attention as the Grand Vin. Not only that, it is produced by the same team that makes the prestigious Château Pichon Baron, then moved in barrel for ageing at Château Pibran.
Minimum retail, certainly of this superior vintage is £39+
Bin Ends have come up trumps with this find where we can pass savings on to you at £32.99 each. Getting harder to find and recently sold out at one excellent London Wine Bar we know.
