Description

  • Vintage: 2022
  • Origin: Beaujolais, France
  • Taste guide: It has a light golden colour. The nose evolves towards a complex bouquet blending exotic fruit and roasted hazelnuts. Faithful to its Chardonnay grape variety, it delivers chiseled minerality on the palate, rounded by a honeyed texture with pear and citrus nuances. It ends with a delicately woody and long-lasting finish.
  • Food pairing: Foie gras, grilled fish, poultry.
  • 75cl - 13.5% - Traditional Cork Opening

Our vines flourish around Château de Corcelles. There, the terroir discreetly provides that touch of minerality so characteristic of Chardonnay. Since 2020, oak barrels have been playing their role in giving the wine its delicately woody signature. All that is missing is some fish on the grill for the feast to be complete”.

This year, the harvest began on August 22. The summer heat wave and drought favored the early ripening of the berries as well as their concentration. The rains at the end of August then came to regulate these maturities, thus promising ripe, juicy and very healthy berries. This sunny vintage looks like 2020 with good maturities, which promises elegant and rich, concentrated and fruity wines.

Hard to find in the UK but we did see it at ‘The Fine Wine Co’ for £15.49. Slight saving here for a unique and cracking Chardonnay.
