Made from 100% Tempranillo, Spain's most important red variety, this juicy young red wine is from the Vino de la Tierra de Castilla growing area in the centre of Spain. It is a vast expanse of very flat terrain. The temperatures are extreme due to its continental climate ranging from lows of -15° in the Winter to stifling highs of 45° in the Summer. Dryness is another one of this regions most distinct characteristics, It has a micro-climate that prevents the entry of moisture carrying winds resulting in very low rainfall. The terroir is formed of sedimentary limestone deposits with mainly clay and sandy soil with a thickness and compactness of grain. The Tempranillo grapes were underwent a slow, temperature controlled fermentation.
Great value Tempranillo here, just £6.49 per bottle.
