In 1995 the Gabb family, originally from Shropshire, fell in love with the picturesque wine farm amongst the Schapenberg hills in South Africa and, conveniently enough, are surrounded by 20 ha of gorgeous vineyards.

It's here they based a fantastic wine stable that produce a variety of wines, not only different varieties and blends but different brands too, this particular brand being one that certainly stands out, just look at the label!

This white blend is produced from vines averaging 7 years old, planted on shale and quartz soils. Sustainably farmed on what has traditionally been a harsh, arid climate, each component is individually fermented and remains on the lees for several months for added complexity prior to being carefully blended by winemaker Ben Jordaan.

"Green richness” is the theme that carries through all Grenache Blanc wines. The aromas will burst with green fruit and citrus notes including pear, green apple, mango, lime zest, and white peach. Viognier and Rousanne bring lovely hints of stewed pear and guava with honey undertones. The palate is a combination of zesty citrus and tropical fruit.

Pairing: Elegant fruit-driven flavours for white fish and rich seafood, tasty chicken particularly with light creamy sauces.

One other dealer has this available at the moment at circa £10 per bottle, less than £8 here.
