The Colonial Estate's approach to making wines in Australia is heavily French influenced. This is what separates The Colonial Estate from other wineries around the world. No expense has been spared, with only the finest of winemaking practices being utilised. The aim is to produce wines of outstanding stature to set them apart from all the rest!

The grapes are hand picked and carefully selected before they receive cold pre-maceration, fermentation, and pressing on skins prior to ageing in French oak. As mentioned above, fermentation is French in approach for up to two thirds of the wine made; the rest is vinified in a more Australian way.

Deep purple with red brick flash around edge. Blackberry fruits with hints of liquorice, oak and aniseed. The palate is softly spoken and fruit driven initially with blackberries, plums and liquorice notes giving your insight into what is ahead. An approachable mid palate, which is full-flavoured, while the fine-grained tannins finish with complex notes of olives, cashew nuts and oak. An alluring finish, which is moreish and smooth, yet has great length.

Hard to find this wine anywhere else online but where we did it was nearly £13, BinEndWines' price: £10.85
