Perfectly positioned in the South West corner of Marlborough, Ara Estates have created an elaborate matrix of over 200 micro sites each with their own individual planting characteristics. This variation adds incredible depth and complexity to the wines. Marlborough’s oldest alluvial soil, blessed with the sunniest days, cold nights, and the freshest cleanest air on Earth, create wines with an unmistakable purity so intense, you can taste it. Unadulterated. Clean. Vibrant. It is well known that the soil in which grapes are grown has a direct impact on the flavour of the wine. In this regard, the soil at Ara Single Estate is singularly unique. Vines live at the majestic crossroads of two rushing rivers, carved 50,000 years ago by glaciers. In their wake, the glaciers left Marlborough’s oldest, mineral rich, alluvial soil, in which these young vines grow.

Grapes are harvested with a range of maturity to contribute a broad flavour spectrum. Following harvest the wine was cold settled then clear racked.

Juice was fermented at moderate temperatures (14 -16°C) using a combination of yeast. These conditions ensured distinct varietal definition and a fuller bodied, textural palate. Following a short time on full lees the wine was racked to blend, fined and stabilised before filtration to prepare for bottling.

Taste the difference a single estate can make!

Lots of nashi pears, stone fruits and honey appear on the bouquet, and on the palate it is lush, floral and spicy with a smidgen of sweetness up front and a refreshing lemon finish.

Still drinking very nicely after chilling and aerating.

This Single Estate wine is around £12 elsewhere online and just £11 in Waitrose. However BinEndWines' price just £9.25!
