Pinotage is a uniquely South African grape, developed 95 years ago as a cross between Pinot Noir and Cinsaut, with Cinsaut's common, if misleading, Cape synonym Hermitage, providing the third syllable.

With more than 300 years of winemaking history, South Africa is one of the most relevant wine producing countries in the Southern Hemisphere, repeatedly regarded as a bridge between the Old and the New World. Vines were first planted in South Africa by Dutch colonists in the 1650s.

The Acacia Tree brand delivers simple crisp whites and fruity reds which have made South Africa so popular in recent years. This is another easy-drinking red to add to the collection and shared with family and friends.

This wine has an intense ruby red colour, the nose has aromas of plums and blackcurrants whilst we thought it was also very soft and pleasant to drink!

Very pleasant on it's own or with lamb, tomato based pasta dishes, BBQ meat or cheese.

Sells for £7 - £8 online or double that in the resturant trade.
