Produced by this long established co-op winemaker situated in Manzanares, on the La Mancha Plateau, an important wine making area in Central Spain. This wine was produced from grapes grown in vineyards situated on the best land, stretching out along the course of the Guadiana river. These waters, coupled with the calcareous soils, mean they have special geological and microclimate conditions, which are natural and very favourable for growing grapes. With grapes coming from different specified regions the wine has to be classified as a Vino de España. Another regulation is that such designated wines are recorded as non-vintage though the importer has advised this is 2019 vintage.

It is a blend of traditional Spanish grapes, Tempranillo and Monastrell, along with Syrah and other indigenous varietals. All of the fruit comes from 5 to 40 year old vines planted on clay, chalk and sandy soils where they receieve a Mediterranean climate. A stainless steel fermentation with malolactic fermentation without the use of oak. Gentle fining, filtration and cold stabilsation.

This is a simple, uncomplicated, unpretentious fruity red wine exhibiting the flavours expected from a blend of traditional Spanish grape varieties harvested in the sun. The wine shows all the age old traditions of rural Spanish wine making. Ripe red fruits and light tannins.

The perfect partner for pizza, spicy dishes like Chilli but aslo try it chilled with a barbecued chicken and lamb.

Usual selling price is around £7.19 (up to £7.99 on some sites) but having bought at a discount directly from the importers we are able to offer this very fruity red at just £5.75.

We have tried this wine and it is genuinely one of the very best inexpensive red Spanish wines we have tasted for ages.
