We enjoyed a bottle of this wine recently and a few days later, despite having other, dearer white wines to hand, we chose to drink this again. It has a taste and quality which totally belies its price.

Produced by the renowned Trivento winery, itself owned by the equally renowned Chilean winemaker Viña Concha y Toro. The winery is named Trivento to recognise the three winds, the Polar, Zonda and Sudestada, which blow across the sunny and arid land of Mendoza. Trivento offers an exclusive portfolio that preserves the character of the Mendoza terroir, earning its place as one of the top bottled wine exporters in Argentina. The success of Trivento can be attributed to the experience and investment combined with the constant search for new techniques and technologies.

This wine typifies the approach of Trivento by combining the world famous Chardonnay with Argentina's own white wine, Torrontés.

The grapes for this wine were harvested in the early morning from Trivento vineyards across Mendoza. Each varietal was vinified separately in an ultra modern winery using stainless steel vats to preserve all the inherent fruitiness of the grapes. The final wine was a blend of 70% Chardonnay and 30% Torrontés.

The wine is light yellow with gold tinges. The nose offers an enticing floral background that well-integrates with honey and citric aromas. This is followed through to the palate which shows a slight initial sweetness which complements the lemon fruit resulting in a fresh and crisp wine with a pleasant finish.

Sold in other outlets for up to £7.50. BinEndWines' price is just £5.75.
