This white wine is from the defunct Jamie's Italian restaurant chain and is produced by one of the top wineries in north-east Italy, Cantina di Montforte. The winemaker is a Co-op situated in the eastern part of the Soave region. They have 600 members, 1,200 hectares in total, and harvest about 20,000 tonnes of grapes per annum.

This wine is a blend of the same grape varieties used for Soave, that is Garganega and Trebbiano, but from outside that specific region and therefore bearing the designation - "Indicazione Geografica Tipica" of Veneto. As with all wines from this Cantina, it was vinified under the direction of Kiwi winemaker Matt Thomson alongside local oenologist Gaetano Tobin.

Cool summer breezes blowing down the Alpone Valley from the foothills of the Dolomites to the north give warm days and cool nights, which helps with the accumulation of aromatic characters in the grapes - and is the source of the name "Breezy Bianco". The varietals were separately vinified in stainless steel vats to retain all the inherent freshness of the grapes, then carefully blended by the winemaker.

The wine is pale straw in colour with green tints. Garganega gives the wine body and a beautiful fragrant character - notes of rose petals and other floral tones - whilst the Trebbiano delivers a delicious fruity kick. Lemon citrus melds with peach and nectarine tropical fruit flavours with a soft and clean finish. This is absolutely gorgeous - we urge you to try it.

Perfect chilled summer drinking - salads, fish, seafood and white meats.

Was on "Jamie's Italian" drinks menu at over £22.

This wine was extremely popular and sold out late 2020 but we have located some more stock. However due to the vagaries of buying wines by auction, we had to pay a bit more.

Still fantastic value at BinEndWines - just £6.15
