Gran Emotivo is a unique and rare blend of 60% Merlot and 40% Corvina, the latter of which is also used in the production of Valpolicella.
Arguably, the two most important regions in Northern Italy are Piedmont in the northwest, and Veneto in the northeast. Red wines from these regions range from some of the most expensive and sought after in all of Italy to great value red wines.
Either way this 'Casa Vinicola Botter' creation is a rich, opulent, smooth red wine produced from “long hang” late harvested grapes from the private vineyards of Veneto. Not many wines get 3.9 on Vivino!
Intense ruby red with purple highlights. Flavours of ripe fruits, such as plums and raisins with pleasant notes of spices, cloves and vanilla. Rich and bold with very ripe, red fruit flavours - complex and delicious. This wine will improve over the next 2 years or so with further bottle ageing.
I enjoyed this wine on its own, and not only was I impressed but it simply improved as it aerated - hence please get the decanter out for this one which I didn't have time to do!
It's a serious "opulent" wine in a very serious and opulent bottle to boot! If you love Merlot, Rioja, Carmenere or Melot/Cabernet you will really enjoy this.
This wine will complement Italian dishes, roasted meats and cheeses.
You simply will not find this wine in any UK supermarkets or many other e-tailers for that matter - a very niche find, even if we do say so ourselves!
Sells for £12 across the pond ($21 Canadian Dollars) - at Binendwines just £7.85
