Rosemount Estate Diamond Label is the perfect expression of Rosemount Estate and their signature style. It is not to be confused with the cheaper "Diamond Selection" produced at a price solely for UK Supermarkets.
The fruit for this wine came from select estate vineyards in the renowned regions of McLaren Vale and Langhorne Creek, the absolute best for Shiraz in the state of South Australia. Harvested in March at peak ripeness the grapes from the two regions were separately vinified in stainless steel vats then blended by master winemaker Luke Mallaby to perfectly combine the attributes from both vineyards. Around 20% of this wine was then oak aged for 2-3 months before the final blending process. This final wine was then allowed to marry for a further 6 months in stainless steel vats before bottling.
This deep garnet coloured wine shows plum, black cherry, blackberry, and dark chocolate on the nose. On the palate it is a rich and generous wine, with dark plum, black cherry and blackberry notes, and the slightest hint of raspberry, before the wine unfurls to reveal dark chocolate and coffee notes which meander towards a long and mouth-watering finish.
The winery indicates that this wine will be drinking well throughout 2021.
To repeat, do not confuse this wine with the cheap labelled Rosemount wines in the likes of Morrison’s and Asda, which come from the all-encompassing south-eastern Australia. This is a select oaked wine from some of the most prestigious sub-regions in South Australia.
