The Raimat Winery, owned by the giant Cordoniu group, pioneered and was the force behind the granting of D.O. status to the Costers del Segre region in Catalunya.
The name of this wine, Ventada, is a tribute to the constant passage of the wind through the vineyards, which contributes to the health of the vines. This wine is made from 100% organic Garnacha white (Garnatxa Blanca) grapes, harvested from select vineyards.
Vinification was conducted with minimal interference using natural yeasts and carried out in stainless steel throughout. The wine was allowed to rest on its lees for a few months before bottling to give more complexity.
The wine is Pale yellow in colour with greenish highlights. The nose is delicate and subtle, with mineral notes combined with an explosion of white fruit (pear) and tropical fruit (pineapple) and citrus notes, with an elegant aromatic touch of Mediterranean herbs and fennel. This is replicated on the palate showing a characterful and balanced wine; delicate and silky in the mouth but with body and personality. Overall it is elegant, full of flower and white fruit tones on a mineral base, reflecting the characteristic terroir.
