Vintage: 2019
Origin: South Eastern Australia
Taste guide: Dry, peach and melon fruit flavours, lemony citrus notes, lightly oaked
75cl - 13% - screwcap
A sprightly fresh and fruity Chardonnay produced from grapes grown in vineyards the Riverina area in south-east Australia. The fruit was harvested at optimum ripeness and cool fermented in an ultra-modern winery.
Bright lemon yellow in colour the nose is deliciously enticing with scents of juicy peaches, green melons, lemon zest and creamy toasted almonds. Vibrantly aromatic, the palate offers a slurp of juicy, ripe peaches and mouth-watering nectarines, followed by subtle hints of lemon zest. As this subsides, a rich creamy toasted almond note joins in to provide a long and rounded finish. Hints of vanilla from the light oaking.
This is a rich and well-balanced Chardonnay with a slightly more subtle approach to oak. Generous and soft on the palate and very easy drinking.
From a well-known importer, this is a wine that Binendwines regularly stocked until a few years ago, but now seen primarily in the restaurant trade.
Has some retail presence where it is selling for £7 plus, though we did see it at £8.29.
Excess stocks at the importer due to the drop in restaurant trade has forced them to clear stocks at a discount.
Passed on to you by Binendwines - our price is just £5.50.
