Origin: Anakena, Central Valley, Chile
Taste guide: Dry; apple and citrus fruit flavours; crisp and fresh; unoaked
75cl - 12.5%- screwcap
This Reserva Sauvignon Blanc has been sourced by the award-winning Anakena winemaking team from some of the best vineyards in the Central Valley of Chile.
Select grapes were harvested in the early morning to preserve all the inherent freshness and vinified in Anakena's ultra-modern winery under temperature-controlled conditions. Following fermentation, all in stainless steel, the resultant wine was rested, again in stainless steel, for a couple of months.
Chilean Sauvignon Blanc is subtly different to other Sauvignons due to the vines being ungrafted and offer a slightly different taste, whilst being obviously Sauvignon Blanc.
The colour is pale lemon and the wine shows aromas of apple and citrus. This follows through to the palate where tropical fruit flavours add complexity - hints of melon, lychee and pineapple. This is still a typically dry and crisp wine, but is also soft and supple. In truth it is very moreish.
Perfect with seafood and salads or just on its own.
Each bottle is packed in a box which represents the statues on the Anakena beach of Chile's Easter Island, so is ideal for gift giving - as well as drinking it yourself!
Sells elsewhere, if you can find it, at around £7.99.
Binendwines' price is just £6.25.
