Santa Rosa is committed to providing quality and environmental improvements to its community, seeking the permanent welfare of their workers. The winery has built schools and adult learning centres in Santa Rosa. The Santa Rosa range of wines aims to express the Argentinian climate. Fresh fruity wines with minimal oak influence. Winemaker Ruben Ruffo states that "The essence of a great wine is the attention to details."
The hand-picked grapes from Santa Rosa Estate vineyards arrived at the winery towards the end of March. They were destemmed and a part of the production was crushed with majority remaining as whole berries. There was a pre-fermentation cold maceration followed by fermentation at a controlled temperature of 25- 28 C and a classic maceration for 20 days with daily remontage and delestage. The wine was split, with 90% maturing in stainless steel vats with the remaining 105 being aged in French Oak barrels for 12 months. The constituent wines were then carefully blended with the final wine allowed to marry and then bottled
This is a deeply coloured wine with a very alluring nose filled with very ripe blackberries and a hint of blackcurrant jam. The sweet fruit is lush and mouth -filling, ripe and dense with some savoury and spicy notes. A beautiful purity of fruit and real flavour with a good tannin structure making it the perfect accompaniment to red meat dishes. A superb example of Argentina's national wine.
