Taste guide: Dry, rich tropical fruit flavours with hints of citrus, buttery tones, unoaked
75cl - 12% - screwcap
Isla Negra is a brand name from the large Concha y Toro company and this wine is marketed under the "Seashore" epithet.
Produced from select grapes from some of the best vineyards in the Central Valley, and fermented in Concha y Toro's winery. A small percentage of wine produced from Pedro Ximenez grapes was blended adding complexity and a touch of sweetness. The final wine was then rested for two months in stainless steel tanks before bottling.
The colour is pale yellow and the nose exhibits fruit and herbaceous notes with hints of peach. The plate is refreshing, balanced and semi-dry with hints of papaya and pineapple and a gorgeous length. There are rich and buttery notes on the long and classy finish. Overall this is a very elegant and fruity wine.
Enjoy as an aperitif, with chicken and other white meats or cheese.
Binendwines' price for this everyday drinking but neverthelass very good Chardonnay is just £4.95.
Just open, pour, and enjoy.
