The name Siete Soles was inspired by the legend of the seven suns (siete soles) depicted on the rocks of an ancient Inca site close to the Terra Andina winery in Apoquindo, to the east of Santiago.
The Terra Andina winery has always sought to produce wines from selected terroirs that can express the true flavours and aromas of each variety, thereby creating a unique wine that will give the consumer great value and satisfaction. Their philosophy is to blend grapes from different valleys so that they have cross-regional blends for a specific varietal. This allows Terra Andina to be more flexible and achieve fruit driven, clean wines, but always very respectful of character of each varietal. Since 2001 Terra Andina has been part of the Santa Rita group, benefitting from the expertise and worldwide distribution channels.
This Sauvignon Blanc was produced from select grapes harvested from estate vineyards across the Central Valley, with each batch separately vinified under temperature-controlled conditions. Stainless steel vats were used to maintain the inherent freshness of the grapes. The final wine was then rested further in stainless steel prior to bottling.
The colour is pale straw with the wine showing refreshing citrus aromas and notes of white peaches. The palate is refreshingly crisp and elegant with flavours of green apples, peaches and lychee, with notes of gooseberry and lime. This a fresh, crisp and well-balanced wine with a long, crisp finish.
It is excellent as an aperitif and will also complement white meats, salads, vegetarian dishes and seafood. Serve chilled.
