Taste guide: Full bodied, black cherry and plum fruit flavours, spice and pepper notes, unoaked
75cl - 13% - screwcap
Malbec is better known over The Andes in Argentina, but this varietal also produces superb wines in Chile, especially when made by one of Chile's leading family owned wineries, Luis Felipe Edwards.
Warm days followed by cooler nights provided near perfect growing conditions. Premium grapes were harvested across select vineyards in Chile's Central Valley and separately fermented using modern techniques The resultant wines were then carefully blended by Luis Felipe Edwards' award-winning winemakers, resulting in this rich and smooth wine with dominant fruit flavours.
Deep garnet red in colour, with purple tints, the nose has aromas of black cherry and dark stoned fruits. This follows through to the palate with rich flavours of damsons and plums with a hint of black pepper and chocolate. The finish is long and satisfying.
Yet another rarely seen varietal from this popular quality range. Sells elsewhere for at least £8.49 and often more.
Binendwines' price is great value at just £6.75.
