The Soft Smooth wine range from Rocco Bay was developed many years ago by the team from Rocco Bay winery after considerable research to discover what the UK public actually wanted from a red wine. The results of that research were combined with a commitment to the highest possible standards of quality, resulting in Rocco Bay Soft Smooth Red.
However, this is not just one of those commercial, somewhat bland wines that clutter up the supermarket shelves. Rocco Bay soft, smooth Red has considerable depth and superb varietal flavours, as well as being oh so smooth to drink.
It is a luscious blend of Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot from South Africa’s famous Western Cape region; a wine made from perfectly ripened grapes grown on mountain foothills, cooled by soothing Atlantic breezes. The Cabernet brings blackcurrant and blackberry fruit flavours whilst the Merlot complements with dark stone fruit flavours with pepper and spice notes. Just pour and revel in a juicy, mouth-watering array of sweet summer fruit flavours wrapped in soft, smooth tannins. Enjoy a glass on its own or pair with almost any savoury dish you can think of.
We have now moved to the very latest 2017 vintage but cost prices in South Africa have rocketed and we have to reflect that in our selling price. We managed to absorb the last duty increase but cannot absorb these latest increases.
Binendwines' price of just £8.25 still represents great value.
