Merlot

Merlot

Merlot
Merlot is popular worldwide and on its own makes a rich, smooth, agreable wine. It is the dominant grape in St.Emilion, Bordeaux, and is often blended with Cabernet Sauvignon to add a a touch of softness. Ripens earlier than Cabernet and therefore can tolerate slightly cooler climates. Makes wonderful wines in the New World, with South Africa, New Zealand, and Australia producing some stunning examples.
