Produced by the long established, family owned Bodegas Bastida. this wine being produced from grapes grown in different specified regions has to be classified as a Vino de España. Another regulation is that such designated wines are recorded as non-vintage though the importer has advised this is 2018 vintage.
It is a blend of traditional Spanish grapes, Tempranillo and Monastrell, along with Syrah and other indigenous varietals. All fruit was harvested by hand from vineyards situated on calcareous and stony soil. The fruit was cold macerated and then fermented with indigenous yeasts in stainless steel.
The wine shows intense garnet red colour with purplish tints and exhibits complex aromas of roasted fruits, cacao and spices. It is medium bodied with cherry, strawberry and red currant fruit flavours, great amplitude on the palate, very persistent and balanced.
Ideal with all red and white meats.
Usual selling price is around £7.99 but having bought at a discount directly from the importers we are able to offer this very summery red at just £5.95.
