Origin: Maule Valley, Chile - Luis Felipe Edwards
Taste guide: Medium/Light bodied, cherry and raspberry fruit flavours, soft and subtle, unoaked
75cl - 13.5% - screwcap
A lighter style of Pinot Noir made by respected Chilean winemaker Luis Felipe Edwards whose wines are sold by all major retailers in the UK, though this Rio Rica label is available for the Independent market only.
Made solely from grapes grown in the Maule Valley, towards the south of Chile, where the cooler climate is ideal for cultivating Pinot Noir. The fermentation took place in an ultra modern winery using stainless steel to maintain the freshness of the grapes and enhance fruit flavours.
The colour is pale ruby red, with a bouquet of red cherries and strawberries. The palate enhances these with raspberry fruit flavours and just enough natural tannin to add firmness. This wine has been nowhere near any oak, is fresh and racy, with good balancing acidity.
Ideal for any light meal; pastas, salads and is superb with poultry or pork, as well as lamb.
Great value - now further reduced to just £4.95.
